A new building was erected directly on the banks of the River Elbe for the newly-formed Institute for the Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems.

The new development consists of four institute buildings connected by a glazed walkway, a hall for experiments and testing and a separate guest house.

  • Building foundation with large in-situ concrete
piles due to the difficult subsoil
  • Design and construction of the whole subfloor as
"Weiße Wanne" – the base and outer walls are
made of jointless in-situ waterproof concrete
  • Flat slab reinforced concrete ceilings with a span of up to 12.5 m
  • "Floating" guest house based on four large in-situ
    concrete piles
  • Staircases as folded plate concrete structures,
more than 7 m free span
