An existing aged care home was reconstructed and an architecturally high-profile extension was added. The design for this building extension was awarded 1st prize in an architectural competition.
The structure is made of load-carrying masonry walls and reinforced concrete columns. For the construction of the slabs and ceilings, in-situ concrete and prefabricated concrete units were used.
The existing dining hall and kitchen were redesigned and structurally altered. This required the existing ceiling in this area to be reinforced and supported.
